A person who laced candy with sedative and distributed them to minors at a youth camp in the region has admitted sexual crimes against two young males both nine and 10.
The accused was arrested after eight children and a grown-up fell ill at the location in July.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 charges when he was present at the judicial center on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one particular crime he was facing, which was involving a young boy.
The defendant was remanded in custody before a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the defendant's actions to the court.
She explained his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were participating in a summer program which he managed.
The defendant conducted a "sweet game" with the children, the prosecutor said, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".
She told the court the defendant had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and children had previously become sick the next day.
She explained the man had been able to explain this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had suspicions in summer 2025.
The prosecutor stated further: "This year his family member had suspicions about the situation, for good reason.
"They decided to examine in the individual's items."
The prosecutor explained objects including lubricant, Vaseline and medical needles were located, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his worries.
She stated the man proceeded to conduct the "sweet game" with six boys that time - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"The police had not gone out by that point," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the incident.
The prosecutor explained the minors were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so the family member contacted the police a second time.
She said the defendant then played the "candy game" in a room of five children.
